Rylee Smith enters her freshman year at Reid State as a driven and versatile member of the volleyball team. A standout multi-sport athlete from Pearl River High School, Rylee brings with her an impressive resume, having earned MVP, Most Improved, and Best Overall awards in volleyball, as well as MVP honors and Letterman status in basketball and softball.
Born in Slidell and raised in Pearl River, Louisiana, Rylee grew up in a competitive household with two brothers, Gabriel (19) and Lukas (13), supported by her parents, Jillian and Zachary Smith. Her strong athletic background and leadership on and off the court make her a valuable addition to the Reid State team.
Off the court, Rylee is pursuing a degree in Business with hopes of making her mark in the professional world — maybe even landing a cover spot on Forbes one day. She enjoys shopping, watching The Originals, and listening to her favorite artist, Anthony Q. Her go-to comfort food? Chicken Alfredo, topped off with banana pudding for dessert.
Rylee’s favorite sports movie is Creed, and she draws inspiration from sports broadcaster Emily Ehman. If she weren’t on the volleyball court, you’d probably find her lighting it up on the basketball court — her second love. She dreams of visiting Arkansas and would love to have dinner with NFL wide receiver Rashee Rice.
