The Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) has officially named Reid State Community College sophomore second baseman Braylon Peters the Division II Player of the Week following a dominant offensive stretch.
For the week of March 23, the Quitman, Mississippi native turned the diamond into his personal highlight reel, fueling a productive stretch for the Lions offense.
According to official conference stats, Peters posted an astronomical .642 batting average (9-for-14 at the plate) and reached base nearly every time he stepped into the box. Peters’ impact was felt all over the field, where he accounted for 8 runs scored and 8 RBIs, including key hits in several critical conference matchups.
His ability to create scoring opportunities was further highlighted by his 5 stolen bases, serving as the primary engine for a Lions offense that continued to climb the conference standings.
"Braylon is a dedicated student-athlete who has shown incredible athletic talent," stated Eric Johnson, Reid State Baseball Head Coach.
A standout product of Quitman High School, Peters has quickly transitioned from an elite high school talent to a premier threat in the ACCC. On the field, his focus remains singular: leading the Lions to the top of the conference standings.
On the year, the second baseman is slashing .468 with 5 HR, 22 RBI, 42 Runs and 24 stolen bases. Defensively, he’s carrying an .833 fielding percentage.
