Reid State’s Garrett West, Braylon Peters, and Jahyri Coleman Earn ACCC All-Conference Honors
Reid State Community College is proud to announce that three members of the Lions Baseball team have been named to the 2026 Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) All-Conference teams. Infielder Garrett West headlined the honors with a selection to the ACCC First Team, while Designated Hitter Braylon Peters and Outfielder Jahyri Coleman were both named to the ACCC Second Team.

Infielder Garrett West headlined the honors with a selection to the ACCC First Team, while Designated Hitter Braylon Peters and Outfielder Jahyri Coleman were both named to the ACCC Second Team.
These postseason accolades cap off a historic season for the Lions, reflecting the individual excellence and leadership that fueled the team’s competitive run in the ACCC.
Garrett West (First Team All-Conference, Infielder) West was a cornerstone for the Lions' defense and a consistent threat at the plate. Known for his tactical approach to the game, he finished the season with a stellar .385 batting average and an on-base percentage of .462, leading the team in home runs, 16 and RBI, 61.
Braylon Peters (Second Team All-Conference, Designated Hitter) Peters provided pop for the Lions' lineup. As the primary DH, he notched a .638 slugging percentage and recorded 31 RBIs, proving to be one of the most feared hitters in the conference during high-pressure situations.Peters also swiped 31 bases on the season.
Jahyri Coleman (Second Team All-Conference, Outfielder) Coleman showcased elite athleticism in the outfield and on the basepaths. He led the Lions with 60 hits, was second with 42 stolen bases and maintained a .435 batting average, which was also the highest on the team. Coleman consistently set the tone at the top of the order.
Lions Head Coach Eric Johnson praised the trio not only for their statistics but for the character they brought to the clubhouse.
"Garrett West has the highest Baseball IQ you can ask for," said Coach Johnson. "He gives you everything he has, and the word loyal is the definition of this great young man. Braylon Peters is a competitor in everything he does, with a high-energy motor; he was our leader this year. Jahyri Coleman is one of the best athletes I’ve coached. His work ethic and demeanor are what you look for in a player. I’m gonna miss these guys who helped lay the foundation. One word describes these three: WINNERS!!"
Johnson continued, "I would like to congratulate these guys on their accomplishments. Not only are they good players, they are better people. I can't say enough about them; they will be impacting players at the next level and successful in whatever they choose. Thanks for helping set the standard, trusting the process, and being leaders both on and off the field."
Dr. Coretta Boykin, President of Reid State Community College, added her congratulations to the student-athletes.
"We are incredibly proud of Garrett, Braylon, and Jahyri for representing Reid State with such distinction on the conference stage," said Dr. Boykin. "Their recognition by the ACCC is a testament to their hard work in the classroom and their excellence on the diamond."
